“The Grip Star socks filled a very important void in our game day apparel.”
“The timing for Grip Star to come on board could not of been better with a water soaked game versus the Waratahs – they really were a game changer for us.
“The feedback from the playing group was overwhelmingly positive, the forwards experienced excellent grip during scrummaging with very wet boots; and the backs were very pleased with the lack of foot movement in their boots when sprinting and changing direction.
“We are very grateful for our partnership with Grip Star and would recommend them highly to any rugby player at any level.”
Melbourne Rebels Head of Athletic Performance, Will Marwick
Super Rugby club Melbourne Rebels are tackling the world’s best rugby teams head-on with the assistance of Grip Star Socks.
The Australian-owned company has partnered with the Melbourne Rebels to provide their stable of elite rugby stars with high performance, grip socks to give them the additional grip they need in the heat of on-field battle.
The partnership sees the club’s Super Rugby team wearing Grip Star Socks in their matches this season against the best rugby players from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan and Argentina.
The Melbourne Rebels star-studded team features Wallabies international stars including Isi Naisarani, Matt To’omua, Reece Hodge, and Marika Koroibete.
Grip Star Socks feature grip panels that eliminate slippage between the sole of the foot and the inside of football boots – delivering greater confidence, traction and response than traditional sports socks.
Grip Star Director Joel Mulvenney says the company is delighted to have teamed up with the Melbourne Rebels.
“Grip Star Socks’ partnership with the Melbourne Rebels is a great opportunity and the feedback from the players and the coaching staff has simply been brilliant,” Mulvenney said.
“It is really great to see Grip Star Socks playing their part in one of the world’s most competitive professional sporting competitions and in some of the world’s great stadiums every week.”
“We look forward to more athletes and teams discovering how Grip Star can help their game – be it at the elite level like Melbourne Rebels, or in social and amateur competitions across Australia,” he concluded.
